Coming to this topic I could'nt agree more . Being the first born of the family I got all the undivided attentation love of entire family. My grandparents i.e my Nana & Nani took great care of me . As I began to go to school I began to come in contact with a large number of kids of my age group and we use to have a gala time playing games and having fun together. However it had its flip side also. If anyone in the class would have a cold or a flu soon it would spread to more members of the gang and one by one a lot of us would be knocked out of action.
When I used to catch a cold or fever my whole household used to come to a standstill and everyone would begin to tend to me. When I could not sleep due to a blocked nose my Nana would stay up all night to be with me. My Mom & Nani would prepare steam for me to take inhalation and apply balm on my chest, back & nose. However my being sick disrupted the schedule of the entire family. The working members of the family i.e my Dad & Nana would go to their respective places of work with red eyes due to lack of sleep as the previous night as they were all awake tending to me.It also meant no going out to play,no cold drinks, or ice milk shakes. all this made me glum and grumpy and this got rubbed on to my family as well.
